WHAT IS MEMORY DEFINE BT GOOGLE
Memory is define by google as the faculty by which the mind stores and remembers information.
In order to do well in our studies we must give a 100% of focus during the lecture thus sparks our enjoyment to the lecture and helps to improve our memory and concentration towards the subject.-
WHAT IS MEMORY DEFINE BY MODULE
Memory strategies will help students in their encoding, storing, and retrieving the information
(helps to remember and recall). Kenneth Higbee, “remembering is hard work, and memory
techniques do not necessarily make it easy, they just make it more effective” (Van Blerkom]
WHAT IS MEMORY PROCESS
ENCODING
Encoding is putting sensory information into the memory systems.
as in application;
(computer - keyboard, camera)
(human - ears, mouth, nose, skin, eyes)
STORAGE
Storage is keeping information in memory system.
as in application
(computer - hard disk)
(human - sensory memory, short-term memory, long-term memory)
RETRIEVAL
Retrieval is pulling up information from memory.
as in application
(computer - computer screen, printer)
(human - writing, taking)
WHAT ARE TYPE OF MEMORY AND WHAT IS DIFFERENCE?
sensory memory (SM).
Sensory memory numerous incoming information from 5 senses will be stored in the sensory memory for an instant. If one pay attention to the stimuli, it go to the short-term memory (STM). If one not pay attention, the information be lost.
(therefore, the importance of paying attention while lecture,
reading etc.)
short-term memory (STM).
Short-term memory is very limited storage. It is because from sensory memory information will be relayed to STM. Information must be repeat strategies to get information to long-term memory, information will be forget.
(therefore, students must realize that applying memory
strategies is important to strengthen the memory ability).
long-term memory (LTM).
Long-term memory is unlimited and large storage. From STM, information will be move to LTM and stored use retrieval. If the information not use for some time, it will forget. Strategies during encoding help in retrieval process.
WHAT IS IMPORTANT OF MEMORY STRATEGIES?
- helps students in their encoding, storing and retrieving the information
remembering is hard work, and memory technique do not necessary make it easy and more efficient
WHAT IS THE REASON FOR FORGETTING?
1]didnt pay atention at the information
2]didnt understand the topic
3]dont have a good startegies
[so how we can plan a good strategies]
STEP MEMORIES STRATEGIES WE CAN USE
1] DO SPACE PRACTISE.
-space practise when you give some times for yourself to sit confortable and memorize the information.but make sure you have a very spacious and confortable place to read and memorize it.i believe a comfortable place willl make us more refresh and easy to study.
2]BREAKING READING MATERIAL DOWN
-we must one step ahead from lecturer.this tips is usually we hear from others dekan students.reading material first before your lecturer taught that.it will give you better undestanding in that topic.
3]KEEEP REPEAT
-repeat repeat andd keep repeat. if we love something we keep repeating their name their information right?it is same concept for learning .with keep repeating the information will stick in your memory.
4]MNEMONICS
-this things is what we call as memory trick.why memory trick?we can make some acronyms, image.or i think map such as bubble map and so on.if you enjoy drawing this is your time to use your talent.you can draw and jot down some note in your drawing!!!!!!11
5]VISUAL
-with a few image in your imagination you can simply draw something that you interesting.with colourful image will help you a lot.because as i know our memory or brain will more attrac to colourful and unique things.
6]ORGANIZATIONAL STRATEGIES
-this is very important strategies for me.and this tips help me a lot in my studying.being organize.you can decorate your things such as your book, your pencilcase.your note.you also can buy a colourful sticky note to give you inspirational.
7]CHUNKING
-This method is most popular among students whereby students tends to study at the last minute and all of the notes that the students read are often being chunk in the head the night before an examination.
HOW CAN YOU IMPROVE YOUR CONCENTRATION?
1]DEAL WITH OUT INTERNAL INSTRACTION -avoid dreamday and pull yourself together,if you start to dreamday you need to take a walk for a while
2]MATCH YOUR LEARNING TASK TO STYLE
-figure out your study type.either you are kinestatic leaner, visual leaner or audiory leaner.
3]MONITOR YOUR CONCENTRATION
-you are king of yourself you are leader and you are smart than you think.so streghten up yourself.and give order for yourself
4]USE ACTIVE LEARNING STRATEGIC ACTIVITIES
-in new abad 21 the minister of education ask every ecudation system to follow hw global learning.such as we can do group discussion, presentation in small group.or train by station.its fun and interesting but vey effective for student.
5]SURVEY,QUESTION,READ,RECITE,REVIEW
survey -do survey about the topic. that you will learn
Question - build the question current reading for mind always find the answer.
Read - read the paragraph for the information
Receive - make summary and simple note.
Review - always do revision and read the note again.
